What can ASMR help you with?

Hello,

For a few months now I’ve been getting a lot of personal messages from different people. These people come from different backgrounds, studied different professions and they live in different places and cities in this world. China, Japan, UK, US, Australia, Netherlands, Canada, Africa the list is endless but all these countries (and many more) have one thing in common that’s very important to me and thousands of others.

In every country there seem to be people who experience ASMR and the fact that they found the ASMR community changed their lives in so many ways which I will never be able to describe in words.

Eventhough it was hard to fully understand how ASMR changed other people’s lives, I know what kind of impact ASMR had on mine. That’s why I can understand till some sort of degree how important my videos and the videos of many other wonderful ASMRtists are to these people.

Lots of people created a night routine where they watch ASMR videos in bed which helps them to fall asleep but that’s not the only purpose which ASMR videos can be used for.

I’ve been wandering why there hasn’t been done any research about ASMR but soon came to realize that I can’t do anything about that. It’s useless to put all my energy into trying to get some research done while I know that some things can only happen over time. However, what I can do is talk about all the good things that people have been telling me about ASMR and how it effected and even changed their lives for the better.

I always new that ASMR was helpful for a number of things but after I posted a status on Facebook asking people about how much of an impact ASMR has made in their lives I got some answers which I never would have been able to imagine. Whatever this tingly feeling is exactly and whatever the test result will teach us in the future doesn’t really mean anything to me right now. The most important thing is that for some reason different sounds/voices can help different people with different problems. These people who shared their stories with me are not making this up nor are they weird or strange. They’re normal people like you and me with different daily life problems who get triggered by different voices, sounds, music, smells or seeing others perform simple tasks. ASMR is what brings them, including myself together!

If you’ve made it this far into the article and you have absolutely no clue what I’m talking about or what ASMR is, I would highly recommend you to watch this video: ‘What is ASMR?’ and read this article after that. If you do know what I’m talking about, feel free to keep reading :D.

I am not an expert or doctor and that ASMR videos will work for you is not guaranteed but this is a list that I wanted to share with you which I created and combined myself because maybe it can help you too. The list contains indirectly, people’s stories of the things where ASMR made a difference in their lives and I tried to bring them together for you. All the things you can relate to in the list might be things that ASMR can help you with. If you suffer from sleepless nights, anxiety, addiction or something else that keeps you busy in your head which is disturbing your inner balance you might want to give ASMR videos a chance. If you’re already one of the people who watch ASMR videos and it helped you or changed your life in a positive way feel free to share your story down below and maybe I can ad more things to the list!

Here’s the list. Thank you to those of you who have opened up and who were brave enough to share their stories with me.

ASMR might be able to help you with the following things:

  1. Sleeping disorders (Insomnia)
  2. loneliness
  3. Depression

  5. Migraine
  6. Anxiety
  7. Concentration (Studying)
  8. Severe traumas (abuse, Post traumatic stress disorder)

Feel free to share your thoughts, experiences or feelings down below. Please Let me know if you would like to see a video version of this as well. I do reply to everyone and would love to hear what you have to say!
